Frequently asked questions
What counts as session time?
Time is tracked from when you join the live audio session to when it ends. Uploading your thesis, browsing examiners, and reviewing feedback don't consume session time.
Do credits expire?
No. Minutes and examiner credits you purchase are yours to use whenever you need them. There's no expiry date.
What happens if I run out of minutes?
You can top up any time from the Credits page — a single extra hour, a discounted 3-hour bundle, or another Viva Pass. There's no subscription to manage either way.
Can I use the same thesis for multiple sessions?
Yes. Once your thesis is uploaded and indexed, you can run as many sessions against it as you like.
What's a custom examiner?
You can create an AI examiner modelled on a real academic, looked up via Semantic Scholar. The AI uses their publications to build a profile of their likely examination style and areas of expertise. The Viva Pass includes one; extra examiners can be purchased individually.
Is my thesis kept private?
Yes. Your thesis is stored securely in your account and is never shared with other users or used to train AI models. See our privacy policy for full details.
What if I need a refund?
Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll sort it out.
